Celebrating Our Afro-Indigenous Heritage Through Land Stewardship
HOME
Welcome Home to Earthseed
Established in March, 2021, Earthseed Farm is a 14-acre solar-powered organic Afro-Indigenous permaculture farm and orchard located on the ancestral lands of the Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo Peoples in Sonoma County, California. We grow an assortment of fruit and berry kin including but not limited to Asian pears, persimmons, apples, blackberries and raspberries.
We are honored to steward our sacred land with permission and blessings from the Graton Rancheria Tribe. The mission of Earthseed Farm is to reconnect our communities to our more than human kin through environmental education and ecological design rooted in Afro-Indigenous Wisdom.

What is Afro-Indigenous Permaculture?
As you explore the grounds of Earthseed, you'll come across the term ‘Afro-Indigenous.’ Afro-Indigeneity highlights the incredible cultural memory and identity of a people deeply connected to their land. At Earthseed, we explore our Afro-Indigenous heritage by celebrating our rich ancestral agricultural practices and technological advancements while acknowledging our complex history of land and body displacement.
Permaculture is design as if nature did it. There are three ethics: Earth care, people care, and resource share.
